Current Areas of Research:

Global change, N and C cycling in temperate peatlands.
Biostatistics and modeling.
Ecology, taxonomy and biogeography of Rotifera, Cladocera and Copepoda.

North American and European [WTD] [DAISIE] expert for identification of Rotifera, Cladocera and Copepoda (freshwater invertebrates).

Current Projects:

- For the past several years, I have been collaborating with Dr. Jill Bubier (Mount Holyoke College), Dr. Aaron Ellison (Harvard Forest, Harvard University), Dr. Nick Gotelli (University of Vermont), Dr. Thomas Miller (Florida State University), Dr. Tim Moore (McGill University, Montreal, Canada), Dr. Thomas Millette (Mount Holyoke College,  GPL, and the Center for the Environment at MHC) on various aspects of Global Change, N and C cycling in temperate peatlands, ecology of bogs including investigations of nutrient regeneration by rotifers in bogs and the role of rotifers in functioning of Saracenia inquilines community, phytotelmata (the workshop - A Synthetic Approach to Phytotelmata Communities - at Wakulla Springs).

Longterm projects:

- Catalog of North American Rotifera, Cladocera and Copepoda.

- A key for identification of Cladocera and Copepoda of Poland: In collaboration with Dr. Jan Igor Rybak (Warsaw University).

- Copepoda, Cyclopoida and Calanoida: A key for freshwater copepods of North America.
