Meet the Faculty

The absurd conflicts among urges, necessities, and mortality animate Rie Hachiyanagi's recent handmade paper installations.
Joe Smith has an affinity for “unsung” materials like plywood, concrete, cardboard, and plate glass to articulate ideas of permanence and impermanence, anonymity and the personal.
Painter Bonnie Miller asks: "Is there a way to reflect on what painting is in the twenty-first century through the act of painting itself?"
Bettina Bergmann re-creates the interiors of Roman homes using Roman history, archaeological reports, and records left by ancient and modern visitors.

Nancy Campbell established the Printmaking Workshop, an artist-in-residence program that brings accomplished woman artists to campus.
