Internship Opportunities

The Beijing Yucai & Xu Beihong Middle Schools
English Teaching Internships

Beijing middle schools Yucai and nearby Xu Beihong provide these two English teaching internships together. The Beijing Yucai School is a private middle school in the heart of China. Xu Beihong is a nearby private Art School. The interns live at Yucai, learn from the English teachers, they are given their own classrooms. Living and working at these sites will be a true cross-cultural experience, and will give you a real insight into Chinese culture and lifestyle. Students are eager to learn from a native English speaker about language and culture in other parts of the world.

Shenzhen Diguang Electronics Co.
Global Communications Intern

Shenzhen Diguang Electronics Co., LTD is an international company specializing in the production of LED backlights (screens used in cell phones, digital cameras, etc.). Shenzhen is in the heartland of modern Chinese industrial development, and is located in the Guangdong region near Hong Kong. Students of varying majors are welcome to apply. Some knowledge of Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is very helpful in every day living, but not essential for the position.

This will be an opportunity to learn firsthand what it's like to run and work for a highly successful, globalized Chinese production company supplying clients all over the world. The intern will work on projects with a team in the international sales department. She will communicate with global customers. She will also set up English language classes and conversation groups based on schedules and needs of the local workers. These classes are intended to improve the pronunciation and listening comprehension skills of the company's employees. Developing handouts and PowerPoint presentations is essential for maximum productivity during limited class time.
