Indira Viswanathan Peterson is a leading scholar of classical Sanskrit literature and Hinduism, and of Tamil literature and South Indian religion, performing arts, and cultural history.

War and propaganda, and nationalism and security in South Asia are focal points for Kavita Khory's teaching and research.
Mohammed Jiyad's Arab women novelists' seminar addresses issues such as arranged marriage, divorce, child rearing and custody, rights and opportunities to work.
Islamic international law is one of Sohail Hashmi's concentrations.
Nancy Campbell's printmaking has been informed by medieval Japanese scroll painting, which she has studied both in America and Japan.
