Gloria
Mark Morris's masterpiece GLORIA will be performed at the gala opening of MHC Dance's new Studio Theater.

The Five College Dance Department was recently awarded an "American Masterpieces" grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to fund the restaging of GLORIA on five college dancers. Set to Vivaldi's "Gloria in D", this large ensemble classic will be performed at four different campuses as well as the Academy of Music in Northampton. and will feature live musical collaborations with college orchestras and choral groups.

Saturday, September 12

MHC and FCDD Faculty Auditions
MHC Kendall Studio Theatre, 10 am, with callbacks following.
MHC And FCDD faculty will audition for their works which will be choreographed and performed the year.

Friday, September 11

Guest Choreographer Auditions
MHC Kendall Studio Theatre, 5 pm - 9 pm
We will have auditions for three exciting choreographic projects this year, by choreographers Chuck Davis, Mark Morris and David Dorfman.

Thursday, September 10

Five College Advanced Placement Auditions
Smith College - 6 pm ballet, 7 pm modern, and 8 pm jazz
If you would like to be considered for placement in the advanced levels (levels 5 and 6) of modern, ballet or jazz technique classes, you need to be approved by this process. This year’s placement audition will be held in Scott Studio, Smith College - 6 pm ballet, 7 pm modern, and 8 pm jazz.

Wednesday, September 9

Dance Department Gathering
Kendall Hall, 6 pm
Please join us for an hour of information regarding the many goings on of the Dance Department.  You will get to meet the Dance faculty, dance majors and minors, student workers, and there will be free pizza and drinks as well!
