TERESE FREEMAN and JIM COLEMAN

Terese and Jim are co-artistic directors of the FREEDMAN/COLEMAN Dance Company and Artists-in-Residence at Mount Holyoke College.  The pair originally met as members of the Bill Evans Dance Company in Seattle, and since forming their own company have toured to over thirty states, including Alaska and Hawaii, Canada, Denmark, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Austria and the People’s Republic of China.  Their company is on the touring rosters of both the Massachusetts and New England Touring Programs and has been produced by Dance Umbrella, National Performance Network, DTW, Riverside Church, Jacob’s Pillow, the SZENE Festival in Salzburg Austria, and others.  They have received two Choreography Fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as two Choreography Fellowships and numerous individual project grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. 

Teaching Specialties: all levels of Modern Technique, Choreography and Improvisation, Kinesiology for Dancers, Dance Aesthetics, Repertory, and Partnering
