Ancient Studies

The ancient studies major encourages the study of ancient civilizations from an interdisciplinary and inclusive perspective. Currently, majors choose from among five concentrations: Greek Studies, Roman Studies, Art of the Ancient Mediterranean, Ancient History, Comparative Myth and Epic, Ancient India.

On consultation with an advisor, a student selects her courses from among those offered in the following departments: classics, art history, history, Asian studies, philosophy, politics, and religion.  Please consult these departments' recommendations for first-year students.
