MHC Yale SURF Program

Mount Holyoke College is pleased to support a partnership with Yale University's Summer Research Fellowship (SURF) Program. Up to four students per summer will spend eight weeks at Yale, familiarizing themselves with the kind of work that they can expect to do in graduate school. Students immerse themselves in an academic, professional setting involving a working relationship with faculty mentor.

The SURF program is intended for students with a strong desire to pursue careers in research at the Ph.D. level. The program is particularly interested in identifying and providing research experience to talented underrepresented minoritty students, but all students may apply. Preference is given to students completing their sophomore or junior years. There is no citizenship requirement. For more general information on the program, consult the Yale University Summer Research Fellowship Program Web site. Note that because of our partnership, Mount holyoke students need only compete with other MHC students for the MHC-partner slots in this program.

To apply to the Yale SURF form, use the Universal Application form, and indicate that you are applying to the Yale program.
