Sally Sutherland has been teaching and deaning in the Five-College
Valley since 1982. At Mount Holyoke she taught a number of writing,
literature, and Pasts and Presences courses while serving as Dean of
Freshmen (1982-86), Dean of Studies (1986-89), and Associate Professor
of English (1989-92). At Amherst, where she was Assistant Dean of Faculty
(1992-98), she taught a freshman seminar on Misreading. She has been
back at Mount Holyoke since 1998, as Associate Dean of Faculty and
Lecturer in English, again teaching introductory writing and literature
courses.
Her field is the drama of Shakespeare and his contemporaries.
