Student Resources

The Department of Environmental Studies strives to provide our students with excellent educational opportunities, from our strong curriculum to our computer and laboratory facilities. Students are encouraged to explore independent research and summer research possibilities with our faculty. Mount Holyoke students fare very well in competition for acceptance to prestigious programs at other institutions and for the best graduate programs. Links to Internships, REUs, Field Camps, and Graduate Schools are provided on the line above.

The Department has modest resources available to support the educational goals of our majors. These funds have been used to support student attendence and participation at professional meetings, travel and other costs associated with independent research projects, and small awards for participating in summer field courses. Students who wish to explore such possibilities should consult with their E&E advisor. Summer opportunities generally require planning well in advance. Fall semester is not too early to begin exploring summer options.
