Andrea Whitcomb has coached Mount Holyoke's field hockey team since 1998.

In 2001 and 2003, Whitcomb was named NEWMAC Coach of the Year and New England East Regional Coach of the Year by the National Field Hockey Coach's Association for her efforts in coaching the College's field hockey team to a NEWMAC Championship title.

In 2001, field hockey made its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. And in its second NCAA tournament appearance in 2003, the team advanced to the second round, eventual falling to national champion Salisbury University.

In 2002, the field hockey team captured the ECAC Division III New England Championship with a 1-0 win over number one seed Clark University. And for the first time in 18 years, the team took the Seven Sisters Championship, winning over three-time undefeated champion Wellesley.

The team traveled to Great Britain in 2002 and 2006 for preseason training.

Whitcomb has coached one National All-American, four Regional All-Americans, and 39 Academic All-Americans over the past six years.
