OPPORTUNITIES:

Edward Allen Wilson Endowed Internship Fund:

Applications for the newly established Edward Allen Wilson Endowed Internship Fund can be found on the Summer Opportunities for Majors/Minors in Film Studies, Career Development Center website. This fund supports summer internships, preferably in Los Angeles, for work in some aspect of film production, with a strong preference for screenwriting.

See Robin Blaetz for further information at rblaetz@mtholyoke.edu.

The MHC McCulloch Center for Global Initiatives:

Study abroad has been a transformative experience for many generations of Mount Holyoke students before you. Mount Holyoke encourages students of all majors to pursue a more profound knowledge of the world and its cultures through the rich academic and experiential opportunities afforded by study outside the US. Visit our website.

Summer Opportunities for Majors and Minors in Film Studies

We encourage all students to think broadly about using the summer to expand their academic horizons. Possible experiences can fall into three types:

*Academic - an opportunity to apply your knowledge of film studies in a work or research setting
*Exploratory Academic - an opportunity to look for connections between film studies and career fields of interest
*Exploratory Career - an opportunity that may not connect directly to academics, but helps to clarify career goals

Note that the listings at the Career Development Center include internships, volunteer/service activities, and research projects -- and that any one of these opportunities or one that you find yourself has the potential to become a 295 or 395P in the following fall semester.

The Career Development Center Web site can help you in three ways:

1. PLANNING what you want to do.

2. FINDING the opportunity that is right for you.

3. FUNDING the opportunity that is right for you. Many of the opportunities found through the Career Development Center will come with their own funding. However, the College has various sources of funds for student projects. Your connection to most of the funding sources available from the College is through the Universal Application Form.

**Note that the Film Studies Program at Mount Holyoke College awards several summer internship fellowships of approximately $2000.00 through the Edward Allen Wilson Endowed Internship. Application for this fund, which favors Los Angeles-based internships associated with screenwriting, should be made through the Universal Application Form.
