Computer Science (COMPSC)
The Computer Science Program is designed to meet the broad needs of students in a liberal arts environment. Computer science students learn to write programs well, but the fundamental objective of the program is to provide a broader perspective: the science of computing. The focus of the computer science program is to investigate the power, the limitations, and the applications of computing.
See the course catalogue for core course requirements and advice on getting started. The recommended way to begin a study of computer science is with 101. Students with prior programming experience may consider beginning with 102, 211 or 221. Members of the computer science faculty can advise you at the Academic Fair during Orientation. For now, select the course that seems most appropriate for you.
