Beginning the Study of Statistics
A natural way to begin if you have not studied statistics is with Statistics 140, Introduction to Statistics (Offered fall semester 2008). Statistics 240, Data Analysis and Experimental Design is a good choice if you have taken an advanced placement statistics course or have taken the equivalent of a 100-level mathematics or statistics course and you want to learn about designing and analyzing experiments in biology, psychology, and medicine. Statistics 340, Introduction to Applied Regression, is an option for students with 100-level or AP background and an interest in economics, politics, public policy or the physical sciences. See catalogue and supplement for course descriptions.
