Kate Heaslip, a native of Cape Cod MA, is graduating with a French major and politics minor. She is particularly interested in French politics and sociopolitical questions and has conducted more research in this area than is healthy!!!—having completed both a 395 independent study and participated in the annual Senior Symposium this semester. Kate plans to continue in grad school at the Institute of French Studies at New York University, with the goal of one day becoming a professor. She received the Edith Sebestyen Rostas prize, awarded to a student who plans a career in teaching. Kate spent her junior year in Montpellier, France, and cannot wait to return. She wishes to thank the French Department for their amazing support, especially her advisor who is nothing short of inspiring.
