A French major and History minor, Jainee has spent 13+ years in the publishing industry. She grew up on Long Island where her high school French teacher inspired and encouraged her love of languages and France. Before arriving at Mount Holyoke, Jainee had traveled widely including most of the U.S. and several countries within Europe, Scandinavia, and Africa.
While at Mount Holyoke, Jainee was a member of the swim team. She spent two summers at Middlebury College in their French language program in preparation for her junior year abroad in Paris (1992 - 1993).
After graduation, Jainee spent a chunk of time interning at various radio stations and production houses until she landed her first publishing job in the then nascent CD-ROM industry. From there she went on to be an editor at one of the first online book-a-zines, www.thebookreporter.com, which eventually led to more than 10 years with the retailer Barnes & Noble in their B&N.com corporate offices (www.bn.com). At Barnes & Noble Jainee wore many hats over the years, culminating in a 4-year stint with the corporate sales division.
In the summer of 2007 Jainee left Barnes & Noble for her current position as a Marketing Director at Rodale Inc. Rodale is a leading publisher of books and magazines in the health and wellness space including Prevention, Men's Health, Women's Health, and Organic Gardening.
In her spare time Jainee has a vigorous home yoga practice, continues to swim at her local Jewish Community Center and splits her time between two wonderful N.Y.C. churches -- St. Luke in the Fields and Fifth Avenue Presbyterian. Her love of travel, ignited by her dad as young girl, has not diminished with recent revisits to Moscow and Lisbon, and a soon first to Brazil. |
