Courses
The department’s course offerings encompass investigations into the nature of gender; its intersection with other forms of difference and power, such as class, race, nation, and sexuality; and its intimate connection with forms of knowledge and social practice. In addition to introductory courses in gender studies and methods and practices of feminist scholarship, the department offers 200- and 300-level courses on women and gender in the study of culture, history, philosophy, and science; feminist theory; and numerous seminars on particular topics such as anthropology and sexualities, gender and war, and gender and class in literature.
