The Geography Major
The geography major allows students to explore the connections between the physical and cultural worlds while exploring the many different areas of geography: physical, economic, social, and political. At Mount Holyoke, students may plan program of study exploring the full range of issues addressed by the discipline. A variety of course offerings allows students to balance regional and systematic approaches to geography.
The major requires a minimum of 32 credits, including Geography 105, World Regional Geography, or Geography 106, Human Geography and 205, Mapping and Spatial Analysis, and additional thematic and regional courses at the 200 and 300 levels.
The Geography Minor
The minor requires a minimum of 20 credits, including Geography 105, World Regional Geography, or Geography 106, Human Geography and Geography 205, Mapping and Spatial Analysis and additional thematic and regional courses at the 200 and 300 levels.
