Personal Statement

I have been an employee of Mount Holyoke College since 1987 and in the Department of Geology and Geography (formerly the Department of Earth and Environment) since 2000. I am fortunate to work with an outstanding faculty and wonderful students.

I aid our Chairman in the required business and administration of our department. I also see my position, in large part, as one of service to our students. Our department is a "home base" for our majors and minors and I strive to make it a welcoming atmosphere where students can come and ask questions about policies, procedures, classes and also have a cookie!

I truly enjoy watching our students mature and progress in their chosen field and would like to believe that I had some small part in their success.
