| The
Five College German Studies Group established
its own listserv in 1995 to increase and expedite communication
with faculty (and others) in the Valley (and elsewhere)
who have an interest in German studies.
WHAT
IS A LISTSERV?
Here is a simple definition: a listserv is a communication
tool that offers its members the opportunity to post
suggestions or questions via email to a large number
of people at the same time. When you submit a question
or something that you want to share to the listserv,
your submission is distributed to all of the other people
on that list.
The
Five College German Studies Listserv does
not function exactly the same way as do other listservs.
It's actually more of a distribution list. Someone must
add your email address to the list. Then you will get
all of the messages sent to the listserv. Of course,
even if you are not a "member", you can still write
an email to the listserv address (see above!) and it
will be distributed to everyone whose email is on the
list.
If
you would like your email address to be added to the
listserv, please contact Carmen Sullivan (carmsull@mtholyoke.edu).
Note that you don't have to join the listserv, if you
simply want to send a message to it. Just click
on the listserv address above, and then send your question
or message to the list (as you would with any normal
email address).
