German Club

What does German Club do?
The German Club helped lead a faculty/student German-Jewish dialogue group, organized trips to New York and Boston to German plays, planned lectures about contemporary Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the EU, and weekly film showings.  Our theater troupe, the “MHC German Players,” as the culmination of its work in German 211 (offered in the spring of 2010), stages an original one-act play in German at the annual “German Theatre Festival and Competition,” an event hosted each spring by Mount Holyoke College and attended by high school and college/university German theater groups from throughout the Northeast.

What is happening in 2009-2010?
Come to the meetings and find out! Events on the horizon include a cooking class taught by a native German at the ACE House, Professor Holger Teschke's presentation of his prize-winning radio play for children, and meetings with German clubs from the other colleges in the Valley to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
