Length of Leave

Students are automatically reinstated at Mount Holyoke at the end of the period of non-academic leave.

Ordinarily, students are granted a non-academic leave of absence for up to two semesters. Students who wish to extend their leave or return to Mount Holyoke early must request approval to do so from the assistant to the dean of the College in writing. E-mail requests should be sent to Nancy Larson.

If you enter another institution as a transfer student, you must withdraw from Mount Holyoke; should you decide to return, you must apply for readmission. If you are thinking about transferring, you should meet with your academic dean to discuss this decision. Should you decide not to return to the college, you must notify the registrar and the assistant to the dean of the College in writing or via e-mail. E-mail notifications should be sent to the registrar and to the assistant to the dean of the College, Nancy Larson.
