Keyboard Proficiency ExamMusic Majors are required to demonstrate a level of keyboard proficiency that permits the reading of elementary keyboard repertory with some facility. The Keyboard Proficiency Exam includes: 1. Sight-reading of melodic lines. Read, in correct rhythm, individual parts of a string quartet or a four-part choral work. Student may choose to be tested on either an instrumental or a vocal example Read, in correct rhythm, single atonal melodic lines
notated in treble and bass clefs. Students should direct any questions regarding the keyboard proficiency exam to members of the keyboard faculty.
