The Pittsburgh Collective
Mount Holyoke composer David Sanford directs the
Pittsburgh Collective big band . Matt Haimovitz, cellist joins the Collective in Sanford’s new cello concerto, Scherzo Grosso, which is the latest installment of Haimovitz’s “Buck the Concerto”series of commissions for cello and unusual pairings.

Christmas Vespers Concert
Annual holiday concert featuring the Mount Holyoke Glee Club, Chorale and Chamber Singers, Kimberly Dunn , conductor; Chamber Jazz and Vocal Jazz Ensembles, Mark Gionfriddo, director; and English Handbells. Traditional candlelight chant processional and familiar carols for the audience to join in singing.

West African Drum Ensemble
The Five College West African Music Ensembles, directed by Faith Conant will play excerpts from Gahu, Agbekor, and Adjogbo, music from southern Togo, Ghana, and Benin. The polyrhythmic music is played on drums of varied pitches, bells, and rattles, and accompanies beautiful songs

"The Palmwine Drinkard" (directed by Bode Omojola), an opera written by Kola Ogunmola, and based on Amos Tutuola's novel of the same title, performed by Mount Holyoke students in collaboration with a group of Nigerian professional performers.
