The 2007-2008 season will mark the 10th Anniversary of Jazz at Mount Holyoke College, culminating with a special alumni component for the spring concert [Saturday May 3, 2008]. If you are a Jazz Alumna looking to find out more information on this particular weekend's events, you are at the right website!

Update 4/15/08: I have just learned that the RSVP deadline is this Friday 4/18!! Contact us soon if you wish to attend this exciting event.

As of 2/15/08, we have mailed out letters (see below) and RSVP cards out to all of the Alumnae of JEMHC. If you have any questions, just email Mariah (see above).

Please take a look at MHC's list of lodging if you're looking for somewhere to stay. I personally recommend Naomi's Inn located in Springfield. Some of the Jazzers may also be willing to host Alumnae in their dorms-- more info on that soon. In case you need them, here are directions to MHC.

Please plan on being here by 8pm (or 6pm if you are planning on attending the dinner).

Hello MHC Jazz Alumnae!

You guessed it: we're longing to see YOU on campus next spring - for a very special weekend to celebrate ten years of jazz at Mount Holyoke College!

We've been jazzing up Mount Holyoke since 1998 and have made a lot of music and quite an impact in our MHC community and beyond. From the original eight-member jazz combo, the program has expanded to three offerings featuring over 30 singers and instrumentalists! It's time to celebrate!

So come back to South Hadley May 2-4, 2008 for a fun weekend to help us celebrate this musical milestone! Plans are underway for a fun weekend for our current jazzers and alumnae alike. Our tentative schedule includes a dinner Friday night followed by a rehearsal at McCullough Auditorium. Anyone interested can join the current jazzers for a couple tunes in preparation for a special concert Saturday night celebrating our 10th anniversary.

A couple items of note:

Cost: There will be a small fee to participate in the weekend, some of which will go toward the Drake Jazz Fund, a fund established by Bill Drake (father of Nancy Drake '74, a trustee) for development of the Jazz Ensemble Program.

Lodging: Alumnae are, of course, welcome to stay at local hotels. Also, we're looking into the possibility of hosting some alumnae on campus. A list of lodging options will be available closer to the event.
