5/5/08: That's All, Folks!
- Our 10-year Anniversary was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who helped put it together, and thank you to the alumnae who traveled near and far to be with us.
- On a separate note, you may have noticed something different about this site... there is now a Links & Resources webpage on MHC Jazz Net. It highlights local musical resources as well as resources right on the web.

- I don't have access to the article yet, but just FYI-- if you have a subscription to the Daily Hampshire Gazette, there's a whole article about the Big Broadcast, so check it out online or check the actual paper. I'll try to see if I can get my hands on a copy of that article to preserve for MHC Jazz history!

2/18/08: Five College Jazz Festival this weekend!
- It's this Saturday, February 23, from 9:30-4:30 at the UMass Student Ballroom. Watch MHC Vocal Jazz perform at 12:05pm, then stick around for Big Band at 1:20pm. Learn more at fivecolleges.edu. Click here for article.
2/2/08: Coming up this semester
- We have quite an exciting Spring '08 coming up! The Five-College Jazz Festival, the Big Broadcast, and our Spring Concert, which will celebrate 10 years of Jazz at Mount Holyoke college and will feature various alumnae who have come back to participate in the festivities. Check our Events & Concerts and the 10-Year Anniversary pages for more information!
- Also, note that the Webmistress of this website is going to graduate at the end of this semester, so if you want a Jazz Wesbsite that is up-to-date, I highly encourage someone from the Jazz Ensembles to take over as webmistress. You get to be on the Jazz Board, make yourself famous... and maintaining/designing a website is a good resume-booster, I might add! I recently remodeled this website (though you can't tell from the outside) to clean it up a bit. If ANYBODY from JEMHC is AT ALL INTERESTED in this, I will be more than happy to give you a personal one-on-one dreamweaver/HTML training session!!!

- Welcome to new members; farewell to those who have gone abroad.
Hey, you, reader, do you play sax? Disappointed at your lack of opportunities to play at MHC? Oh, little did you know that you HAVE an opportunity to play-- with us! Or maybe, you play trumpet, but you'd rather not put all that time into Orchestra; maybe you prefere something a bit more jazzy! And other jazz-players(bass,guitar, etc.); this is a rare opportunity for you to join the MHC Big Band! You can audition this Friday between 1-4pm in Mark's office. Just sign up on the Bulletin Board in Pratt hall.
