Courses
The politics department offers 100-level courses in fundamental concepts, institutions, and theories; these courses have no prerequisites. Some, such as 112, Speaking and Arguing: The Rhetoric of Peace and War, and 117, Globalization and Its Discontents, are designed especially for first-year students.
Courses at the 200 and 300 levels explore in greater depth a broad range of time periods, political systems and institutions, conflicts and movements, and political theory. See the Politics chapter of the catalogue for descriptions and prerequisites. Majors may also take related courses in other departments.
