During
the fall semester 1998 CLPIA the forum for Web-based discussions
with alumnae leaders/advocates on leadership and advocacy across
different walks of life. Each week we feature an alumna who has
demonstrated leadership in a particular field or context and
who has been actively involved in bringing about change. A very
interesting and diverse group of alumnae has agreed to participate
and to be available for Web-based discussion with the community
during their particular week.
We
can learn a lot through interaction with alumnae role models,
but time and resources restrict our ability to bring a large
number of alumnae to campus. Through this pilot project we intend
to expand the venues of discussion beyond the traditional on-campus
forums using the web as an effective way to exchange ideas among
alumnae and the community.
Each
alumna was asked to provide an initial statement on decision-making,
problem-solving and some of the inherent problems by answering
three questions:
- How did you decide what
to do after graduating from MHC and how did you get to where
you are today?
- What is a specific area/issues
where you think your actions have made a difference in the community?
- What was one of the most
difficult ethical dilemmas you have faced in your life as a leader/citizen?
But in the Web-based discussion
you can ask the alumna anything that is of particular interest
to you!
