Student Organizations
Psi Chi
Psi Chi is a national honor society for students committed to Psychology.
Membership is offered to students in the top 35% of their class (approximately
a 3.6 cumulative grade point average). There is a lifetime membership
fee of $35, and a local chapter fee of $10. Interested students should
ask for information in the department office. Psi Chi may organize events
for majors.
Annual Intercollegiate Undergraduate Psychology Conference
To encourage undergraduates to formulate, design and proceed with original
research, the department hosts the most well-known Psychology and Education
conference in the Northeast. Students at schools throughout New England
and the Mid-Atlantic states are invited to submit papers for consideration.
Mount Holyoke students who are involved in research projects are especially
encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to present their research.
Abstracts are due in mid-March and the conference is held in late April.
Short presentations are held throughout the morning and afternoon, followed
by a reception and keynote address by a researcher. All members of the
Mount Holyoke community are invited to attend the day's events, held
in the Reese Psychology and Education building.
