Susanne Mrozik
Assistant Professor
Susanne Mrozik received her Ph.D. from the Committee
on the Study of Religion at Harvard university
and her M.T.S. degree from Harvard Divinity School.
Professor Mrozik is a specialist in Buddhist
traditions. She teaches courses on women and
Buddhism, Buddhist ethics, Buddhist literature,
Buddhism in America, and a comparative religion
course on body images and practices in religious
traditions. Professor Mrozik is also the Mount
Holyoke College advisor for the Five College
Buddhist Studies Certificate Program.
Professor Mrozik is the author of Virtuous Bodies:
The Physical Dimensions of Morality in Buddhist
Ethics (Oxford University Press, 2007) and the
co-editor (with Peter N. Gregory) of Women Practicing
Buddhism: American Experiences (Wisdom Publications,
2007). Currently she is researching the reestablishment
of the Theravada Buddhist nun's lineage in Sri
Lanka.
