Library, Information,
and Technology Services (LITS)
Library, Information,
and Technology Services (LITS) combines the expertise and services
of Mount Holyokes library, computing, network, and curriculum
support groups. Although the work of LITS is woven throughout
the campus, it is housed primarily in Williston, Miles-Smith,
and Dwight. These three buildings are physically connected and
form the LITS complex.
The librarys
collection currently totals more the 700,000 volumes, including
more than 1,600 periodical subscriptions. Through the Five College
Consortium students, faculty, and staff have borrowing and reference
privileges at the libraries of Amherst, Hampshire, and Smith Colleges,
and the University of Massachusetts, providing access to more
than six million volumes. Items not in the Mount Holyoke College
Library collection and not available through the Five College
delivery service can be obtained through interlibrary loan.
In addition to the
main library, Mount Holyoke has a dedicated Music
and Dance Library located in Pratt Hall, as well as an extensive
art slide
collection.
