Language
Resource Center
Located in the Ciruti
Center for Foreign Languages, the Language Resource Center is
equipped with an array of instructional technologies such as audio
and video equipment, computers, and interactive multimedia programs.
The center supports instruction in Arabic, Chinese, French, German,
Italian, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish, as well as other languages
that are part of the MHC curriculum.
Sixteen computers
from both Mac and PC platforms are available for student use.
Equipped with special software, proofing tools, and fonts for
foreign languages, these computers can be used for multilingual
writing or Web-browsing; for playing CD-ROMs, audio CDs, and DVDs;
and for engaging in multimedia production. In addition, the LRC
has region-free DVD players, tri-standard videotape players, laser
and color printers, scanners, slide projectors, CD and tape players,
overhead projectors, film projectors, microphones, and headphones.
The LRC's reception
desk is staffed by student assistants who support users and distribute
course-related materials used in the center.
