Kenneth Tucker's book, Classical Social Theory: A Contemporary View (2001), explores the contemporary relevance of classical social theory by examining the work of Marx, Weber, Durkheim, and other theorists.

How much media intellectuals--the professional op-ed writers and televised "experts"--influence political and social discourse in the U.S. is one focus of Eleanor Townsley’s research.

Thinking of pulling a nutty? Consult Richard Moran, a criminologist and a leading expert on the insanity defense, capital punishment, and the history of the electric chair.

Matthew McKeever’s work focuses on issues of social and economic inequality with a primary focus on the countries of southern Africa and eastern Europe.

Patricia A. Banks studies how race structures cultural reception especially among the black middle class.
