¡Hola! Me llamo Rogelio Miñana y soy de Valencia, en la costa mediterránea de España. My job is really cool: I get to share ideas and knowledge with bright young people, travel frequently, and write on Spanish and Latin American literature and culture. I study the foundations of Hispanic/Latino cultures to gain a greater perspective on Spanish-speaking cultures today. I love Don Quijote, and strongly believe that Cervantes~R masterpiece has changed my life and the lives of those who have read it ~V including Charles Dickens, Ernesto Che Guevara, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero (the current prime minister of Spain), and my students. I have published two books, numerous articles, and have had the privilege to exchange ideas with audiences in several different countries. In my latest research project, I examine how Don Quijote is re-signified as a universal Hispanic symbol of nationalism, identity and resistance in today~Rs Latin(o) America and Spain. I will be chairing the Spanish department between 2006 and 2009 and welcome you to contact me with any questions and/or suggestions for improvement.
