Developing the Ability to Speak and Write About Literature
Learners' and Teachers' challenges
Literary and other authentic cultural texts challenge second-language learners by inviting them to speculate, hypothesize, and analyze in interactive discussion and in composition. This workshop will focus on structuring reading-based course activities in ways that enable students to meet the demands placed on them by increasingly complex materials and so grow into more advanced linguistic functions.
