Sophia Skiles is a NYC-based actor and educator. Performance credits include: Richard Foreman's production of Now That Communism Is Dead, My Life Feels Empty at the Ontological-Hysteric Theater (Amsterdam and Vienna tour), as well as work directed by Andrei Serban, Anne Bogart, David Herskovits and Mary Zimmerman. Sophia is a member of Crossing Jamaica Avenue, Local 116 Theater Company, the Butane Group and Baubo Performance Project (Chicago). Teaching affiliations include work with Lincoln Center, Theater for a New Audience and Northwestern University. As a lead organizer for THAW (Theaters Against War), Sophia continues to coordinate pro-peace performance within the theater community, including providing support for the Culture Project's upcoming fall arts festival on human rights and social justice. Jacob Javits Fellow at Columbia University (MFA, Acting), BS (Performance Studies) Northwestern University. She will be teaching performance and voice courses as well as directing the final spring production.
