Mission Statement
Our approach to the study of Theatre Arts offers
students the opportunity to explore and participate in a curriculum
which embodies the liberal arts tradition, and includes a spectrum
of disciplines, cultures and experiences.
The major objectives of the Mount Holyoke College Theatre Arts
Department are:
- To combine the theory and practice of Theatre Arts with the
understanding that one informs the other.
- To develop skills in critical thinking, analysis and collaboration.
- To provide interdisciplinary, international and multicultural
educational opportunities for all students.
- To provide practical experience in all aspects of theatrical
production, both on and off stage.
- To prepare students for graduate school and further professional
training.
