The Theatre Arts Major

At Mount Holyoke, students who major in theatre arts are expected to acquire a foundation in three areas: design, performance (acting and directing), and theatre history and dramatic theory. Beyond that, a major is free to tailor her program to fit her particular interests and should work with her faculty advisor in choosing courses.

The major requires a minimum of 10 courses (40 credits). For detailed information, see the Theatre Arts chapter of the course catalogue.

The Theatre Arts Minor

The minor requires a minimum of 16 credits (four courses) above the 100 level, and should include at least one 300-level course. For more information, see the Theatre Arts chapter of the course catalogue.
