To submit a First-year application, please complete the Common Application, as well as the Mount Holyoke College Common Application Supplement. We encourage you to apply online via the Common Application website. If you are unable to apply online, please download the Common Application and the Mount Holyoke Common Application Supplement or request a paper copy from the Office of Admission. The application fee is waived if you apply online; be sure to enclose the $60 application fee for the downloaded or paper application.
Steps in applying:
- Submit the Common Application to Mount Holyoke (be sure to enclose the $60 application fee if you are submitting a paper application).
- Submit the Mount Holyoke Common Application Supplement, which includes a writing section.
- Give the school report and mid-year school report to your high school college counselor. Ask her or him to send the school report with your current transcript by the application deadline and the mid-year report by February 15, preferably.
- Give teacher evaluation forms to two teachers who know you best and can tell us about your talents and strengths; be sure to provide teachers with a stamped envelope addressed to Office of Admission.
- SAT I, SAT II, and ACT test scores are optional (exception: home-schooled students), though you are welcome to submit them. If you do submit scores, send them directly to the College. MHC’s SAT code is 3529; ACT code is 1866.
- If you are applying for financial aid, you must submit the appropriate forms at the same time you apply for admission. More about financial aid...
- Mount Holyoke strongly recommends scheduling an interview with an admission counselor or alumna representative prior to applying. Make sure the interview takes place at least two weeks before the application deadline. More about interviews...
- If you have artistic or athletic talents, Mount Holyoke is happy to receive portfolios, tapes, slides, or videos that showcase your talent. If you wish to have materials returned, please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
