Morgan Wilson

Harriet Newhall Fellow

Why MHC: "The reasons I chose MHC are probably too many to list, but I'll name the top reasons. I loved the campus after my first visit the atmosphere at the College just felt right. I love the small size of the student body and the low faculty to student ratio. I knew I would receive a world class education from Mount Holyoke and be well suited for the "real-world" immediately upon graduation."

Class year: 2011

Major(s): Environmental Studies

Minor(s): Politics

Hometown: League City, Texas

Current Residence Hall: Mead

Postgraduate Plans: Hopefully I'll attend graduate school at Columbia University for Sustainable Development

Study Abroad/Internships: I plan to go abroad to the Caicos Islands for their Marine Resources Management Program for part of my Junior year.

Favorite Professors: Craig Woodard (Biology) and Jane Crosthwaite (Religion)

Favorite Class: Thus far my favorite class has been my first year seminar with Professor Crosthwaite: Hagar, Sarah and their Jewish, Muslim and Christian Children.

Favorite Extracurricular Activity: I love the community service projects I'm involved in, especially the Holyoke Tax Project.

Favorite Place on Campus: I absolutely adore the Library.

Favorite Tradition: I would have to say that Pangy Day is great because it's during a beautiful time of year, the weather is perfect and the theme of women empowerment seems to apropos here at Mount Holyoke College.

Favorite Local Restaurant: Arigato Sushi in Amherst
