Transfer Steps in Applying

To submit a Transfer application, please complete the Common Application for Transfer Students, as well as the Mount Holyoke College Common Application Supplement for Transfer Students. We encourage you to apply online via the Common Application Web site (please note that you must indicate you are applying as a Transfer applicant).

If you are unable to apply online, please download the Common Application for Transfer Students and the Mount Holyoke College Common Application Supplement for Transfer Students and Frances  Perkins Scholars or request a paper copy from the Office of Admission. The application fee is waived if you apply online; be sure to enclose the $60 application fee with the downloaded or paper application.

Steps in Applying

  1. Submit the Common Application for Transfer Students to Mount Holyoke (be sure to enclose the $60 application fee if you are submitting a paper application).
  2. Submit the Mount Holyoke Common Application Supplement for Transfer Students and Frances Perkins Scholars, which includes a writing section.
  3. Give the College Official's Report to your academic dean or your adviser. You must also submit official transcripts of all previous college work. If you are currently enrolled in courses that will not be completed before the application deadline, you must also submit a Mid-Term Report.
  4. Give the College Instructor Evaluation form to two instructors who know you best and can tell us about your talents and strengths; be sure to provide the instructors with a stamped envelope addressed to Office of Admission.
  5. Give the Secondary School Report to your secondary school college counselor or guidance office. Ask your secondary school counselor or guidance office to send us official secondary school transcripts as well as any written reports of your secondary school work.
  6. If you are applying for financial aid, you must submit the appropriate forms at the same time you apply for admission. More about financial aid. Financial aid deadlines vary.

Mount Holyoke strongly recommends an interview, either on campus or with an alumnae representative in your area. All on campus interviews should be scheduled at least two weeks prior to the desired interview date. To schedule, contact the Office of Admission. To schedule an off-campus interview with the alumnae admission representative in your area, you should also contact the Office of Admission.
