Sonya Stephens, vice provost for undergraduate education at Indiana University, Bloomington, will become Mount Holyoke's new dean of faculty in July.

Lori HendricksLori Hendricks Named Athletics Director
President Pasquerella announced the selection of Lori Hendricks ’92 as Mount Holyoke's new athletics director. Hendricks will take on her new duties July 1.


Wikipedia Edit-a-ThonWikipedia Edit-a-Thon
Students, faculty, and staff gathered in Williston Memorial Library for a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon, which was designed as an exercise in "writing MHC women back in to history."

Students have recently been awarded prestigious scholarships that will enable them to study and undertake projects abroad.


MHC RidingMHC Athletics
MHC’s hunt seat team earned a spot at IHSA National Championships as they clinched a fifth straight Zone 1 title. The MHC Equestrian Center and dressage team now prepare to host the International Dressage Association (IDA) championships at the end of the month.

The lacrosse, crew, tennis, track and field, and golf teams have all posted strong starts to their seasons.

Important Dates and Upcoming Events on Campus

LITS (Library, Information, and Technology Services) highlights:
April 11 - Celebration of Mount Holyoke’s Dante Collection, Stimson Room
April 15 – 19 National Library Week events
May 1 - Study Break Tea (complete with therapy bunnies!), Stimson Room

LITS will have extended hours during finals to provide spaces for both collaborative work and quiet study. As always, LITS staff members are available to provide support with technology and research questions.


April 8-April 26Academic Course Registration
Any student embarking on an internship or research project this summer should strongly consider enrolling in MHC’s exciting fall 2013, 2-credit course: COLL211 “Tying it all Together: Curriculum to Career”. This course, required for the Nexus minor but open to all students, is the gateway to present at MHC’s prestigious fall LEAP symposium on summer internships and research. COLL211 and the LEAP symposium provide students with a unique opportunity to embed their internship within their academic experience and advance individual career preparation.


April 19Senior Symposium
The schedule is now available for this inspiring event where seniors pursuing independent study showcase their intellectual passions, independent projects, and scholarly research.


May 1 Financial Aid Renewal Applications Due
To meet the deadline the CSS PROFILE and FAFSA should be completed online by April 15 (choose the IRS data retrieval on the FAFSA, if possible) and all requested forms submitted to IDOC by April 25. (Note: Not all students are required to use IDOC. Students will receive an email from the College Board if IDOC submission is required.) Check online for specific documents requirements.


Ongoing: Applications for MHC Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT). Applications reviewed throughout the spring semester.
