Job Opportunities for Students
The Museum offers a variety of paid job opportunities for students throughout the year. Student positions include receptionist/gallery guards, collections management assistant, curatorial assistants and Education Outreach Fellow. These opportunities are highly sought after, resulting in a very competitive application process. In recognition of the valuable contribution that student volunteers make to the Museum, current and former Museum volunteers are given first notification when job vacancies occur. Therefore, students interested in securing a paid Museum position are strongly encouraged to gain experience as a Museum volunteer in order to strengthen their application. Student job openings are only posted to the College’s CDC website when an inadequate number of current and former volunteers apply for an opening.
Art Advisory Board Fellowship
The Art Advisory Board of the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum sponsors a fellowship position to afford an alumna a one-year period in which to extend her education and professional training. Intended to be equivalent to an entry-level position in an art museum setting, the fellowship is designed to provide the recipient the opportunity to learn a broad range of curatorial, research, collection management, and administrative skills.
