Facilities

Mount Holyoke athletes, students, faculty, and staff are able to practice, compete, and stay fit in several top-notch athletic facilities.

The Kendall Sports & Dance Complex houses a swimming pool and separate diving well; gymnasium with basketball, volleyball, and badminton courts; weight room; cardiovascular area; 1-acre field house with indoor track and tennis courts; squash courts; racquetball courts; and three studios for dance, aerobics, yoga, and other activities.

The Orchards, Mount Holyoke's golf course, is located within walking distance of Kendall Hall. The 18-hole championship course was crafted by the legendary Donald Ross in 1922, and was home to the 2004 U.S. Women's Open, the 2002 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships, and the 2001 Massachusetts Men's State Amateur Championship. Considered a "hidden gem" by many golf enthusiasts, the tree-lined fairways and thoughtful bunkering within 160 acres of sloping wooded terrain are trademark characteristics of the Donald Ross design.

Mount Holyoke's equestrian center is one of the largest collegiate centers in the country, and is considered among the finest in the Northeast. The equestrian center consists of a 60-stall barn, two indoor arenas (100' x 256' and 70' x 130'), an outdoor show ring, and a permanent fibar dressage arena. Outdoor cross-country courses that cut through 120 acres of woods, fields and streams are also available to riders.

Mount Holyoke hopes to begin construction soon on a  new turf field and track complex and expects it to be completed by mid-August.
