Class Attendance/ Missed Classes

Home Games
Student-athletes should not miss scheduled classes to attend a home game. Students however can negotiate early release from a class with the professor of that class. Professors are not required to allow students to leave class early for home events.

Away Games
In accordance with Mount Holyoke College academic standards, all student-athletes are expected to punctually attend all courses in which they are registered. However, students may request to miss a class for the purpose of traveling to an off-campus competition. The student-athlete must make this request to her professor a minimum of 7 days prior to the proposed missed class date. Professors are not required to allow students to miss classes for the purpose of off-campus competition. The student-athlete is responsible for work covered in each missed class meeting.

Scheduling of Classes/Labs
It is advised that student-athletes attempt to schedule course sections and lab sessions that will not conflict with team practices and games. Because academics are most important to the Mount Holyoke student-athlete, student-athletes are not advised to avoid taking classes due to time conflicts. However, registering for another section time may alleviate scheduling conflicts.
