2009 Lacrosse Blog - Week 1

by Rachel Kurzweil - April 10, 2009

I know this is really late, but the lacrosse team has been so busy since we returned from Spring Break in West Palm Beach, Florida. Once we returned from out trip we jumped right into our regular season.

While on spring break, we played and practiced in the beautiful and sunny Florida weather. We also made time to go to the beach and do fun team building activities. Our favorite was the photo scavenger hunt organized by the coaches. They put us into three teams, which each included a coach and a van, and then gave us a list of tasks to complete. It was so much fun, and we made some great memories.

Aside from fun social activities with the team, we focused a lot on lacrosse and training for the upcoming season. We had intense practices where we worked on drills and plays as well as communication. We also had the opportunity to play two games against opponents we do not normally face in our regular season. The team began our time in Florida with a game against St. Lawrence. Though we lost, we fought hard and were able to learn something from the game. Over the next few days, we practiced and worked on what we could do to win our next game.

Later in the week, we faced off against Allegheny College. This was a great game, and one of the best I have seen us play. We communicated well, took care of the ball and worked as a team. Winning was the best way to end our time in Florida. After that, we spent a little more time practicing and hanging out at the beach.

Overall it was amazing trip filled with sun, fun and team bonding, where we made memories we will never forget.
