 NEWMAC Announces Spring Academic All-Conference Squads
The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) recently announced its 2008 Spring Academic All-Conference Teams. Twenty-four Mount Holyoke College student-athletes were recognized for their achievements in their respective sports as well as in the classroom. Academic All-Conference Teams were selected for the women's lacrosse, women's outdoor track and field and women's rowing.
May 7, 2008 NEWMAC Announces Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Awards
The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) recently announced its 2008 women's lacrosse postseason awards. For the second season in a row, Babson College senior Anita Martignetti was named NEWMAC Player of the Year. Teammate Sarah Macary earned NEWMAC Rookie of the Year honors, while Vanessa Cox of MIT was selected as the league's Coach of the Year. Mount Holyoke College received the NEWMAC Sportsmanship award.

Springfield Eliminates Mount Holyoke, 22-5
The second seeded Springfield College women's lacrosse team rolled to a 22-5 triumph over seventh seeded Mount Holyoke College this evening in the opening round of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament at Stagg Field. It was the Pride's eleventh straight win over the Lyons dating back to the 2000 season. They grabbed a 19-4 victory when the two clubs met earlier this spring.
April 30, 2008 Strong Second Half Pushes Babson Past Lacrosse, 15-5
Paced by senior midfielder Anita Martgnetti, the Babson College women's lacrosse team earned a 15-5 victory over Mount Holyoke College this afternoon in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action at the Mount Holyoke Turf Field. Martgnetti totaled five points on four goals and one assist.
April 26, 2008 MIT Overpowers Lacrosse, 17-2
Paced by senior Laura Watson, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team handed visiting Mount Holyoke College a 17-2 setback today in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action at Jack Barry Field. The midfielder set the tone for the Engineers, netting five goals and assisting on another.
April 19, 2008 Lacrosse Tumbles at Bridgewater State, 22-13
Sophomore midfielder Shannon Manning piled up eight points on six goals and a pair of assists to power the Bridgewater State College women's lacrosse team to a convincing 22-13 victory over non-conference foe Mount Holyoke College today at the Edward C. Swenson Athletic Field Complex. It was the Bears fourth win in a row and seventh in their last eight outings.
April 17, 2008 Smith Tops Lacrosse, 11-8
Senior attacker Sara Smyth found the net four times, as the Smith College women's lacrosse team downed New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) foe Mount Holyoke College this evening in Northampton, Mass. It was the Pioneers first league win of the 2008 campaign.
April 15, 2008 Wefald Earns NEWMAC Lacrosse Player of the Week Accolades
Mount Holyoke College sophomore Peggy Wefald was named New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's lacrosse Player of the Week following her outstanding play in contest's from April 7 - April 13. It was the first time in her career that she has earned NEWMAC weekly accolades.
April 14, 2008 Scoring Outburst Propels Lacrosse Past Norwich, 23-11
Led by sophomore Peggy Wefald, the Mount Holyoke College women's lacrosse team sprinted to a 23-11 victory over Norwich University this afternoon in non-conference action at the Mount Holyoke Turf Field. In the first ever meeting between the schools, the Lyons established new program records for goals in a game (23) and points in a game (34 - 23 goals, 11 assists).
April 12, 2008 Connecticut Holds Off Lacrosse, 13-9
Junior midfielder Emily Mason posted four goals to propel the Connecticut College women's lacrosse team to a 13-9 victory over non-conference foe Mount Holyoke College this afternoon at the Mount Holyoke Turf Field. It was the Camels 18th straight win over the Lyons, dating back to 1990.
April 9, 2008 Lacrosse Stopped by Wheaton, 20-10
The Wheaton College women's lacrosse team doubled up Mount Holyoke College 20-10 this afternoon at Keefe Field. It was the hosts first New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) triumph of the 2008 season.

Using a balanced scoring attack, the Springfield College women's lacrosse team cruised to a 19-4 victory over Mount Holyoke College this evening in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action at the Mount Holyoke Turf Field. It was the Pride's tenth straight win over the Lyons dating back to the 2000 season.
April 1, 2008 Wellesley Cruises Past Lacrosse, 17-7
Sophomore attacker Colette Whitaker piled up seven goals to propel the Wellesley College women's lacrosse team to a convincing 17-7 victory over Mount Holyoke College this afternoon at the Mount Holyoke Turf Field. It was the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opener for both squads.
March 29, 2008 Gordon Handles Lacrosse, 17-7
The Gordon College women's lacrosse team topped Mount Holyoke College 17-7 this morning in non-conference action in the 2008 Spring Fling at Lake Lytal Park. With the loss, the Lyons rounded out their Spring Break training trip with a record of 0-2.
March 20, 2008 Lacrosse Falls to St. Lawrence, 17-11
The St. Lawrence University women's lacrosse team led wire-to-wire in a 17-11 victory over non-conference foe Mount Holyoke College today at the 2008 Spring Fling at Lake Lytal Park. It was the Saints first win of the 2008 campaign. Mount Holyoke, which was playing its first of two spring break games in Florida, fell to 1-3.
March 17, 2008 Eastern Connecticut Outlasts Lacrosse, 20-11
The Eastern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team found the win column for the first time this season, defeating non-conference foe Mount Holyoke College 20-11 this afternoon in its home opener. Senior Jessica Scheno and sophomore Courtney Bedocs each scored twice during a 9-0 spurt down the stretch that sealed things for the Warriors.

Junior midfielder Ava Gottschall tallied five goals to lead the Mount Holyoke College women's lacrosse team to a thrilling 13-12 triumph over non-conference foe Keene State College this afternoon at the Mount Holyoke Turf Field. With their first win of the 2008 campaign, the Lyons bumped their record to 1-1. Keene State fell to 0-2.

Senior midfielder Kayte Devine racked up three goals and three assists to propel the Western New England College women's lacrosse team to a 16-8 victory over non-conference foe Mount Holyoke College this afternoon at the Mount Holyoke Turf Field. The Golden Bears spoiled the Lyons season opener and grabbed their second win in a row.
March 8, 2008 Lacrosse Begins New Era in 2008
The Mount Holyoke College women's lacrosse program will begin a new era in 2008, as Miriam Esber begins her first season at the helm. Esber joined the Lyons staff in August after a three-year stint as the head coach at Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y.
