MHC Athletics LogoAwards Handed Out at Annual Athletic Banquet
The Mount Holyoke College Department of Athletics hosted its annual awards celebration on Wednesday evening in Chapin Auditorium. Individuals from all 14 varsity teams were honored. Associate Athletic Director Lori Hendricks served as the event's emcee.

Laura RobinsonSquash Competes in CSA Individual Championships
The Mount Holyoke College women's squash team competed in the 2008 College Squash Association Individual Championships over the weekend at the Naval Academy. On the women's side of the event, there were two divisions - Ramsay Cup (A draw) and Holleran Cup (B draw).

Mount Holyoke College women's squash head coach Pamela Saunders received the Clarence C. Chaffee Award at the conclusion of the 2008 Howe Cup National Championships last weekend. She shared the College Squash Association honor with George Washington University head coach Maura Myers.

Elizabeth WrightSquash Squeaks Past Bates at Howe Cup, 5-4
The Mount Holyoke College women's squash team edged Bates College 5-4 this afternoon at the 2008 Howe Cup National Championships hosted by Princeton University. With their second win of the season over Bates, the Lyons secured 11th place overall at the event. The two teams were facing off in the tournament's "B" Division consolation contest.

Pamela AnckermannCornell Trips Up Squash in Howe Cup Semifinals, 8-1
The Mount Holyoke College women's squash team fell 8-1 to Cornell University in the semifinal round of the 2008 Howe Cup National Championships today at Princeton University. With their second win of the season over the Lyons, the Big Red catapulted themselves into the tournament's "B Division" title match. They will face off against Williams College tomorrow at 9:30 a.m

Hillela SimpsonSquash Drops Colby in Howe Cup Opener, 7-2
The Mount Holyoke College women's squash team cruised to a 7-2 victory over Colby College in the opening round of the 2008 Howe Cup National Championships today at Princeton University. As a result of their second win of the season over Colby, the Lyons (16-4) will now move on to the semifinal round of tournament's "B" Division.

The Mount Holyoke College women's squash team rounded its regular season slate out with a 9-0 setback versus Princeton University today at Trinity College. The Lyons will enter postseason play with an overall record of 15-4.

The Mount Holyoke College women's squash team split a pair of matches today at the Smith Squash Center. Following a 9-0 rout of host William Smith College, the Lyons suffered a heartbreaking 5-4 setback versus Cornell University. Their season record now stands at 15-3.

Laurian Lue YenSquash Claims Second Consecutive Seven Sisters Championship
For the second year in a row, the Mount Holyoke College women's squash team took home the Seven Sisters Championship today at Smith College. The Lyons breezed to a 9-0 victory over the host Pioneers in their first round contest before defeating Vassar College 7-2 in the championship match. Wellesley College upended Smith 8-1 in the tournament's consolation tilt.

The Mount Holyoke College women's squash team cruised past both Northeastern University (9-0) and Wesleyan University (8-1) today at the Kendall Sports and Dance Complex. With their two wins, the Lyons put the finishing touches on a perfect 5-0 weekend at the 2008 Mount Holyoke/Smith College Invitational. They improved their overall record to 12-2 in the process.

The Mount Holyoke College women's squash team continued to roll, earning a pair of victories today at the Kendall Sports and Dance Complex. Following an 8-1 win over Colby College, the Lyons downed Hamilton College 6-3 to remain unbeaten at the 2008 Mount Holyoke/Smith College Invitational. They will enter the third and final day of the round robin with a perfect 3-0 mark.

The Mount Holyoke College squash team will host the Mount Holyoke/Smith Invitational this weekend at the Kendall Sports & Dance Complex in South Hadley, Mass. Matches will begin on Friday, January 25, 2008 and conclude on Sunday, January 27, 2007. Teams competing at Mount Holyoke will be Colgate University, Colby College, Wesleyan University, Wellesley College, Hamilton College, Tufts University and Northeastern University.

Vidishi GurunadaBrown Takes Down Squash, 6-3
Despite victories from its top three players, the Mount Holyoke College women's squash team suffered a 6-3 setback versus Brown University this afternoon at the Pizzitola Sports Center. It was the Lyons second loss of the 2007-08 campaign. With the win, Brown improved to 2-4 on the year. Mount Holyoke dropped to 7-2.

The Mount Holyoke College women's squash team picked up a pair of victories today at the Yale University Round Robin. Both wins came in thrilling fashion. After edging Bates College 5-4, the Lyons downed Bowdoin College 5-4.

The Mount Holyoke College women's squash team breezed to a convincing 9-0 triumph over Amherst College this afternoon at the Davenport Courts. With the win, the Lyons improved their season record to 5-1. The Lord Jeffs dropped to 5-5 on the year.

The Mount Holyoke College women's squash team opened up its spring semester slate at the prestigious Betty Constable Invitational this weekend. Princeton University hosted the annual tournament, which got underway on Friday and concluded on Saturday. The event consisted of two draws. Members of the Princeton, Trinity College and Mount Holyoke teams made up the fields.

Rebounding from it's first loss of the season, the Mount Holyoke College women's squash team picked up a pair of victories at the Wesleyan University Invitational today. Following a 9-0 shutout of George Washington University, the Lyons edged Hamilton College 5-4.

The Williams College women's squash team picked up a 9-0 triumph over visiting Mount Holyoke College this evening. It was the Lyons first loss of the 2007-08 campaign. They fell to 2-1, while the Ephs improved to 2-2. Mount Holyoke will travel to Wesleyan University on Sunday.

The Mount Holyoke College women's squash team kicked off its 2007-08 campaign in grand fashion, earning top honors at the inaugural United States Women's Collegiate Team Championship, hosted by Smith College today. Following a 9-0 win over Smith, the Lyons downed Wellesley College 8-1 to secure the title. Wellesley clinched second place with an 8-1 victory over Smith in the round robin tournament.

MHC Squash LogoSquash Team Eager to Begin 2007-08 Campaign
The Mount Holyoke College squash team will open its season this weekend with high hopes, as it looks to build upon an outstanding 2006-07 campaign in which it vaulted to 13th in the College Squash Association (CSA) national rankings. Last year's 13th place finish was the best in the school history and ranked fifth among Division III schools that compete in the CSA.
