Pamela Anckermann '09

Hometown: Guatemala City, Guatemala

Major: Psychology

Latest accomplishments in squash: Finished in the top 30 at the WCSA Championships (2007); Placed 8th (singles) and 3rd (doubles) in the Centro-American Games (2006); Ranked 24th in collegiate rankings and placed 20th at the WCSA Championships (2006); went undefeated during the regular season and finished 21-2 at the No. 1 position (2005-06); team Rookie of the Year (2005-06); placed eighth in the Pan-American Games (2005); placed first in the Centro-American Games (2005).

Best thing about Mount Holyoke squash: My teammates, my coach, and the competition.

Best thing about Mount Holyoke: The diversity, my professors, and the on-campus activities.

Sports played in high school: Soccer (high school team) and squash (national team).

Other interests: Traveling, cooking, reading, movies, and hanging out with friends.

Latest accomplishments in squash: Undefeated in the 2006-07 regular season (22-0) and ranked amongst the top 50 college squash players in the USA (2006-07).

Best thing about Mount Holyoke squash: The commitment of our wonderful coach as well as the team spirit and friendship among the team members.

Best thing about Mount Holyoke: The diversity of the student body and the welcoming nature of the students.

Sports played in high school: Squash, track & field, netball, and swimming

High school accomplishments in your sport: Three-time team captain; Junior National Champion (2001); represented Sri Lanka in international tournaments.  

Other interests: Outdoor adventures, cooking, watching television, experimenting with other sports, and spending time with family and friends.
