The Mount Holyoke College tennis team competes against very strong National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III teams such as Wellesley College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The tennis program attracts dedicated scholar-athletes willing to work hard to develop their games and to help make Mount Holyoke a top contender in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and in the region. Longtime head coach Aldo Santiago seeks to develop players' ability to concentrate, think creatively and become responsible and open-minded leaders.

The tennis team competes in both the spring and fall. Fall tryouts are usually held one to two weeks before the start of classes. Sarah LondonPractices consist of drills, physical training, challenge matches and weight-training. NEWMAC opponents in the fall include Babson College, Clark University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College and WPI. An important feature of the fall schedule is the New England Women's Championship. The spring season runs from mid-February to mid-April and includes the Seven Sisters Championship, in which the team goes head-to-head with players from Smith, Wellesley, Vassar College and Bryn Mawr College.

As a Mount Holyoke scholar-athlete, you are driven to excel in the athletic arena as well as the classroom and laboratory. The discipline, sense of accomplishment, and competitive edge that you bring to your sport resonate through every channel of your intellectual life.

The desire to achieve - it's all part of the mind-body connection.
